How to Run Linux Commands on Windows

There are many ways to run Linux commands on Windows. A very easy way is to install GNU On Windows (GOW). It is a free tool available that has Windows executables having the same name and functionality as their Linux counterparts like ls, cat, nc, rm and vim to name a few.

Simply download the installer from here:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/Gow.shtml

After installing at your favourite location simply add the path of GOW's bin folder to your PATH environment variable so that you don't have to type the complete path every time calling the commands.

Just that easy. Enjoy Linux on Windows! :)
